Eastern View High School, Culpeper County Public Schools
Hurd & Obenchain, Inc. was responsible for full MEP Design Services, including CA, for this 259,000 square foot, 1500 student high school. This building is Registered LEED® and has been featured in Real Estate & Construction Review. High Performance Engineering features included a geothermal heat pump system and multi-level control of classroom lighting. Construction was completed the summer of 2008.
Fauquier County - Hospital Hill Data Center
Complete upgrade and renovation of the data center serving Fauquier County and Fauquier County Public Schools. Work consisted of architectural renovations, electrical upgrades including generator and UPS, and HVAC upgrades. Substantial completion was in December of 2006. H&O’s low bid amount was $423,420—more than $150,000 less than the Owner’s budget.
Virginia Tech's Latham Hall (Ag/Forestry Building)
For Virginia Tech’s Research Laboratory Building, H&O completed HVAC, plumbing and electrical design for the 84,277 square foot building in accordance with BCOM's CPSM guidelines. This building was substantially complete February 2006.
Post Oak Middle School, Spotsylvania County Public Schools
The work consists of the construction of an approx. 127,000 square foot middle school. The building is a two story masonry construction with steel frame. H&O’s work included a central HVAC plant supporting a four-pipe VAV system and full electrical services including power, lighting and complete communication/data systems. Interior finishes were also included in the work. The low bid amount was $21.2M. It was substantially complete in July of 2006.
