HIGH PERFORMANCE ENGINEERING

High Performance Engineering evolves from the basic ingredient of quality.  It doesn’t matter to us if you call this approach Green Building, Sustainable Design, LEED® Building or some other environmentally-friendly catchphrase: Hurd & Obenchain, Inc. has approached our work this way for years.

H&O is proud to be an ENERGY STAR Partner and members of the USGBC as our firm is committed to conservation and protecting the environment to our best ability.

There are three main reasons Hurd & Obenchain, Inc. knows that High Performance Engineering is here to stay:

1) It provides healthier and more productive environments for students, teachers, businessmen and women, and others who spend multiple hours a day in the same building.

2) Most times it becomes cost-effective in terms of being less expensive to operate the building/s over time.  Hurd & Obenchain, Inc. recognizes that complete LEED Certification may not fit into some budgets, but any time we are given the opportunity to gauge overall cost (which includes the damage done to our environment) it is a good thing for our society and the communities in which we live and play.

3) It provides sustainability by preserving our environment so future generations can enjoy the earth and our buildings as much as we do.

The greatest energy concerns we see today are in mechanical systems, electrical systems and building envelopes.  Hurd & Obenchain, Inc. provides cost estimating, value analysis measures, and life-cycle costing, where appropriate, so our clients never feel our work is a mystery; Hurd & Obenchain, Inc. wants our clients to feel like their needs are understood—and we like to demonstrate our comprehension by providing these measures for our clients so a full circle of communication occurs.
